Widji Week 8 weeks In
Camp is pretty stellar. I've gotten more comfortable around here and getting to know the guy staff. This weekend we even have a guys night so we're going cliff jumping and having a cookout on Widji Island. One of the tasks for Justine and I as the chiefs is putting together the cabin devotions with each week. This past week they went through Philippians 2:1-10 on the humilitaion and supremacy of Christ. This coming week we'll be preparing Colossians 1:15-21. Everyday the cabin leaders walk through these passages with the campers and try to fuel their discussion on topics about God. I've enjoyed this extra task that the leadership staff brainstormed and wrote into the job description in late June. It's pretty sweet - we even add actions in for each day's passage to help them memorize it. If you're wondering where all this goes down check out my office. Recognize any of your favourites?
And if you were wondering "no" - we don't quiz the campers on their Koine Greek.

More Evidence
If you know as a fact that God is righteous, John says, then you will perceive as a logical consequence *that everyone who does what is right has been born of him* (1 Jn. 2:29). The child exhibits the parent's character because he shares the parent's nature. A person's righteousness is thus the evidence of his new birth, not the cause or condition of it.

Widji Week 6
Woah another week just flew by! I think I am getting use to being eaten by mosquitoes now. I'm convinced there is so much of their poison in me that they don't really like to eat me as much. This week was treasure island week at Camp Widjiitiwn. Going against the grain though, we decided to have a nerd night in the middle of the week. It was definitely a highlight. Here's a couple glam-shots from that evening.

John Stott
If it's one man I like to quote a lot hear on the blog it would be John R. W. Stott. He is the writer of the renown book The Cross of Christ. It was just last saturday that he died and went to be in Christ's presence. This quote of his came to my mailbox from his collection describing the work of the Trinity in the Christian's assurance of their faith and it's worth a share.
The witness of God the Holy Spirit
confirms the word of God the Father
concerning the work of God the Son.
